You Know You’re a Lurker When…

Welcome to Love our Lurkers Day, started by Bonnie of My Bottom Smarts.  I love my readers — from the frequent commenters, to those I only see in my daily stats, the lurkers.

Great things sometimes lurk, like this Hitachi vibe.

I was a lurker.  Am still a lurker.  And, as such, I know the signs of a lurker.  While there are many reasons why one may not make comment, here are five big signs that you might be a lurker:

1.  You write a comment.  You delete the comment.  You write it again, and delete it again.

2.  You are a Tibetan Monk bound by a vow of silence.  But you like big butts and you do not lie.

3.  You know more about me than you do your best friends.  (Honestly, how many of our friends discuss in detail their orgasms and sex lives?  Thankfully few.)  But I don’t know anything about you, yet.

4.  You make furtive, lurking noises while patrolling the blogosphere.  My noises sound like this: bum, bum, bum, da bum. But nobody else hears them.

5.  You’re dying to tell me what noises you make when you lurk.

You know you’re a de-lurker when:

1.  You finally make that comment you’ve been wanting to make, even if it’s just to say ‘hello’.

So go ahead, de-lurk!  Tell me what your favorite post is.  Tell me what your dog’s name is.  Tell me how you found The Pink Report.  Tell me anything and I will appreciate it.

You could even tell me what you whistle while you lurk.

  5. I am not a lurker. My favorite post of yours? There are too many to list here. I don’t have a dog. In fact I have no pets at all. I do not fall under any of the items you listed. I don’t make any noises out loud while I am lurking unless you count the pitter patter of my fingers typing on the keyboard and my heart beating faster. Lea sent me here. It’s her fault. By the way tell her she is in trouble for not having your link properly set for your blog and ask her to fix it please.

  8. Happy LOL, Pink! I might even qualify as a lurker on your new site. I don’t recall what noises I make while lurking around other sites (they’re probably gaseous in nature), but I know that when I come to yours, it’s usually laughter. You’re wit is above par, my friend.

    …and as for #3, yes, your readers all know of your love for Hitachi. ;)

    My dogs’ pseudonymous names are taken from the Harry Potter books: Fang and Fluffy.

    • If that’s a spanking offense, then I know of two people who will be waiting in the corners. :)

      Love your puppies’ names! My cat’s name is Madame M, but she goes by “Mad Cat”. I always wanted a dog named Peeve so I could say, “This is my pet, Peeve.”

  22. Hi Pink! I read often and comment rarely. You seem to have a dearth of Tibetan Monks, so I’m tempted to say I am one, but I’m afraid that might be like spiritual voodoo. Not up to tempting it.

    I’m not really a lurker. I saw your comment on HEDONE blog and remember my dashboard had lost your blog. I shall remedy that. I have read some of your older post while I was here and enjoyed them. Love your choice of images… When I do come here I will leave a comment. Nothing drives me more crazy then to see I had 100 visitors and two comments. So I will say hello if nothing else… Enjoy the rest of Lurker Day… 1Man …

  38. Now I know I’m two days late, and I know I’m not a lurker anymore, but I just had to wish you happy LOL day.
    If I remember correctly, last year you offered a “2 spanks for 1 post” sort of deal if i remember correctly (or was it 4 spanks??). Not game this year, huh????
    I thought that the resulting audio file was absolutely delightful. Probably pulled me out of lurking mode.
    I note that some of your spanking/blogging colleagues are offering a similar deal this year and am surprised you are not out there matching the competition!!!

    • Shhh.

      I was hoping nobody would remember! Actually we WERE going to do audio this year, but — and this might sound corny — I argued that, because of some things we’ve had going on, I didn’t want to share D this weekend.

      We will do audio (soon) though. An audio review has been discussed.
